December County Clare Sunrise

A bright and colorful December sunrise over County Clare precedes rapidly dropping temperatures with frost, snow and ice predicted in coming days.

Meteorologists for Met Éireann, Ireland's national weather service, are forecasting temperatures well below freezing to -5 C (23 degrees F) for these last days of 2014.

By mid-afternoon, freezing rain and sleet already began blanketing the area.
