Dangan Castle in Ballynacally, County Clare

One of the amazing things about the Irish countryside is seeing Medieval castle ruins coexisting with modern homes, though separated by hundreds of years of history.

Dangan Castle is a former McMahon clan stronghold built in the 1500s to help safeguard the heavily travelled Shannon Estuary near Ballynacally in County Clare.
