Water Flowers at Markree Castle, County Sligo

This is one of my all-time favourite images… not only is this scene genuinely enchanting and conjures pleasant memories of a stay with my son at Markree Castle in County Sligo in 2013.

We explored the surrounding estate and came across this vibrant display of flowers in the River Unshin, which forms a partial moat around the castle.

As it turns out, these flowers (Gerbera Daisies) may have been dumped into the river after a wedding or other event, but I was happy to be the lucky visitor to capture this scene so I could share it with you.
